Project Offspring
Twitter!
I know! I know! Everyone is selling something on Twitter now a days. The thing is, Twitter works. We can get the much needed attention for the project on Twitter as well as possibly catch the eye of someone with a large number of followers who may be willing to retweet or talk about us!
*If you decide to do anything on Twitter to help Project Offspring PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not be rude or disrespectful about it. Do not tweet at a certain person ten times a day. Once a day (or even, every other day) would be amazing. Especially if we can get multiple people on board. However, being rude about it might end up getting us negative attention. That wouldn’t be good for anyone.
Two people we would love to get the attention of is Brian Stelter and Chris Hardwick.
Brian Stelter is a writer for the New York Times and he writes about TV and the Web. Of course we don’t think this would get him to write about us in the NYT but he might be interested in tweeting about us! He has a great deal of followers and he is very respected. Getting the nod from him could mean a lot to us. You can find him at twitter.com/#!/brianstelter/ You can also find Brian Stelter here on Tumblr. Getting his attention would be amazing…as long as it was done in a respectful way.
Chris Hardwick is the man behind all things “Nerdist.” He is at the forefront of technology, gaming, art, film, books, science, social media and pop culture. He has around 1.6 million followers on twitter but more importantly, his word is golden. If he takes a look at this project and likes it, his talking about it would not only make the fund raiser a success but also the site itself. You can find him at https://twitter.com/#!/nerdist/ You can find the Nerdist here on Tumblr as well. Getting Chris Hardwick to notice us would be a dream come true. It is also, pretty unlikely. Still, we have to try. With your help we just might get him to at least check out the project.
There are several other people that we would love to get the attention of but for now, getting the attention of Brian Stelter and/or Chris Hardwick would mean so much to this campaign and to the future of the site.
The kind of tweets we are hoping to see are: @brianstelter Will you help make Project Offspring a reality? http://igg.me/p/124492?a=470883&i=twtr #ProjectOffspring
or
@nerdist Have you heard about Project Offspring? What do you think? http://igg.me/p/124492?a=470883&i=twtr #ProjectOffspring
Something along these lines would be fantastic and not to pushy! Don’t forget to hash tag Project Offspring! #ProjectOffspring
